Creating Users (TimeMoto Cloud)

Your employees (those who you wish to track time and attendance for, and also any personnel managing employees and/or your TimeMoto Cloud account) are documented within the TimeMoto Cloud as users. We advise to start by creating your users. In this article, we explain how to create your first user. 

Creating a New User

You can create and manage your users in the Cloud via [Settings] > [Users]. Here you can see any users you have already created. If you want to create a new user, click on the green “+”-symbol at the top of the page.

On the left-hand side of the page, you will see various categories of information required to create a new user. The user creation process will guide you through step-by-step.


Within the “General” section you can add any relevant general information about the user. The fields “First Name” and “Last name” are required, all other fields are optional. Once you have entered all information you want to add, click on “Next”. 


Within the “Company” section you can add organisational information about the new user. You can document an internal personnel number under “Personnel nr. 1”. You can also assign the user to locations or departments. For more information about locations and departments, please refer to the following articles:

Once you have entered all necessary information, click on “Next” to continue.


Within the “Authorization” section you can indicate if a user has the authorisation to log in to TimeMoto Cloud and the TimeMoto smartphone app. For more information about these authorisations, please refer to the following article:

Important: if you want to give a user the authorisation to log into TimeMoto Cloud or the smartphone app, you must have entered a valid e-mail address under “General” for the user.

Click “Next” to continue.


Within the “Schedules” section you can assign a work schedule to the user. For more information on work schedules, please refer to the following article:

TA Device

The section “TA Device” shows you the information that will be sent to the TimeMoto/TA device that the new user will be synchronised with. During user creation, this field is usually empty. You can enter the number of an RFID badge or key fob here if you wish. More data becomes available once the user is created.

Pay Class

Within the “Pay Class” section you can assign a pay class to a user and set a base pay rate. If you want to learn more about pay classes, please see the following article:

Click on “Save” to finish user creation. Congratulations, you have created a new user!

Once your user is created, you will go back to the [Settings] > [Users] overview. Your new user will be synchronised automatically to all connected TimeMoto/TA devices with the same location(s) the user has been assigned to. If you did not assign the user to any location, the user will be synchronised to all connected devices.
